Moments with Dad

Image
Dustin making a few memories in the kitchen with Rebekah before she leaves us for college! Dustin is a really great Dad.  He spends lots of time being with the kids and building fun memories together.  He works really hard to support our big crazy family and his has what seems to be an endless reservoir of patience for us all.  We are so lucky to have Dustin. We love you!

Green Pond Trail Hike

Image
It was the first family hike of the season.  We went up to the Green Pond trail in the Wasatch Cache National Forest, just outside of Mountain Green.  It was a beautiful afternoon with stunning views and lots of wonderful wild flowers.  I think everyone had a great time and we discovered it was time for Diana to move up from the front pack carrier to a hiking backpack. :D

John and Diana at the splash pad Summer is finally here and boy are we ready to play!  We love cooling off at the city park's Splash Pad, attending lots of fun day camps, working on our library summer reading logs, and chillin' in the yard with friends.  Let the days of endless fun and corndog eating commence! Maeve learning to fish at 4-H Adventure Camp at East Canyon State Park Playing at the Ogden Nature Center Owen after a super awesome, fun day at Fantastic Forts day camp at the Ogden Nature Center. He made a bug house habitat! Backyard water fun   What's for lunch?  Corndogs, of course!

Temple Day!

Image
June 1st was a very special day.  Maeve performed baptisms for the dead for the first time in the Ogden Temple.  She said it felt very holy.  What a wonderful experience to have with her older siblings!  Loyd was able to baptize Dustin and Dustin baptized everyone else.  I just love this quirky and faithful family of mine.  They are amazing!

End of School Year Fun

Image
It's that busy time of year where we get to enjoy lots of end of year concerts and performances showcasing some of the wonderful skills and talents the kids have learned over the year.  We had a great month of kindergarten and 3rd grade musical programs, tumbling performances, band concerts, high school graduation award ceremonies, and fun filled field days (okay that day was super cold and it even snowed!!!).  After all that fun we rewarded ourselves with a great trip to the Museum of Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point with the Barra cousins.  Was was the best!  School was amazing!  Bring on Summer!

Toddlerhood in Full Swing - Diana Style

Image
Miss Muffet, Diana, is in full toddler mode.  She is hilarious; she is smart; she is demanding; and she sure knows how to both giggle and scream.   Her FAVORITE food is string cheese.  She runs to the fridge and yells "MOM! MOM! MOM!" until I open the fridge and she yells, "More cheese! More cheese!"  It's quite dramatic until she gets her string cheese.  This happens all day long.  Diana can now say everyone's name, but mostly just calls for me when she wants something. :D Her favorite show is Daniel Tiger.  Her favorite thing to do is cuddle.  She LOVES to be outside and loves putting her shoes on.   She is a joy and I don't know how we possible lived without our little Diana.   Baby Love Um, she was just celebrating Grandpa Phillips on his birthday with one of his favorite treats.  I think that must be the best twinkie cream mustache I've ever seen.
