Barn Field Trip

Image
This week we went with Xavier's preschool on a field trip to the school district's high school barn.  We had lots of fun seeing the sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, pigs and cows.  Maeve was super excited to practice her best animal noises.  She even sang, "La La La" when I asked her what the pigs say.  Maybe we've been reading the Sandra Boynton book Moo, Baa, La La La! too much lately. :)  Xavier's favorite moment was when he saw a cow pick its nose with its tongue.  Of course all three of us had to give it a try and see if we could do it too.  Sadly, our tongues just aren't as cool as a cow's.  :)     I just had to show off how cute Maeve looks in her cute skirt made by Grandma P.  Maeve loves the little poof tale on the poodle applique.  My little girl loves to dress up. And I thought this funny picture of Owen all dressed up for Church was perfect for sharing.  We are having way too much fun with this ...

Owen's Baby Blessing

Image
On Sunday, December 28, 2014 Owen was given a name and a Priesthood blessing by his loving father, Dustin Cornelius.  We were able to perform his baby blessing at home so we could include all of the grandparents, who live in different states, via Skype video phone.  It was a beautiful blessing and we are so honored to have such amazing men stand in the Priesthood circle for our beautiful baby boy.  We are truly grateful for the kind friends we have made here in TX that have become as dear to us as our own family.  We also feel very blessed to live in a time when we can share this special day with our close family and friends despite living so far from our extended family.  We want you to know, Owen, how much we love you.  You are a gift from heaven and we look forward to getting to know and love you more with each passing year.  You have many people who love you and will help teach you the Gospel of Christ so that you can live a happy, full...

Warm and Fuzzy

Moments like these make my librarian mother's heart sing with joy. This cardboard box rocket that is so beautifully made is at our local library.  The kids love playing in it and pretending they are astronauts blasting off into space.  I just love the look on Loyd's face in this picture.  He's definitely living in the moment of take-off right now.

What do they think this is, vacation? I just love seeing Baby O stick his tiny little fingers and toes through the holes of his favorite napping blankie.  :)

$64 Million Dollar Question

Image
Why are there non-slip grips on the bottom of Owen's newborn sized footie pajamas?  Is he planning on running around somewhere that might possibly be slippery? Well, your plan is busted, buddy.  You're not running around anywhere...for now.  :P

Must Be Christmas

Image
The trees lost all of their leaves... My favorite stockings made by my amazingly talented Mom for my favorite little people were filled by Santa with care...  And the Sugar Plum Fairy danced throughout our house.  It must be Christmas time! *****   This is just a fun picture of how small our little Owen is for his first Christmas.  This sweet little baby is so small he can comfortably use a "boop rag" as a blanket.  I just love babies when they are so sweet and so small!  We all love this little boy!
